Do you know what I did this summer?
I had probably the best summer ever doing lots of fun stuff. I’m off to buy some white gloves and silver envelopes so I have to dash but here is a little taster:
Oh, and for those who don’t know – this is the Michael Rosen, Poet, Writer, Performer and Childnren’s Laureate.
Dan this is amazing. The time and effort stalking these writers must have been immense. Getting past PA’s, arranging visits and convincing the best “literati” in the world of children’s literature is testimony alone BUT… When the children of Barnby Road were confronted by the faces behind the pictures and words, talking directly to them ,it brought home that:
A) They are normal people who can write and draw like I can
B) Authors and illustrators love what they do
C) That adults can carry on writing and drawing till they are old (Sorry Michael and Quentin), they need not stop once they leave school
D) That books and thoughts don’t just appear as disembodied entertainment like telly appears to do
E) Authors and illustrators want their reading to be fun
F)The fact that the three videoed authors were in there top five school books was amazing
G) That you can achieve anything if your confident and persistent and look the part
H) That Dan Morelle is a parent and governor as excited as they are about stories
