Work in Progress

Been working on this one for ages. Well I admit I’ve only spent about 4 hours on it but the head time and procrastination is more like a couple of months.

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss

Dedicated to one of my favourite authors whose birthday it was yesterday.

Theodor Seuss Geisel (March 2, 1904 – September 24, 1991) was an American writer and cartoonist best known for his classic children’s books under the pen name Dr. Seuss, including The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. His books have become staples for many children and their parents. Among Dr. Seuss’ trademarks were his rhyming text and his outlandish creatures. He wrote and illustrated 44 children’s books. Many of his books have been adapted into short animated programs. His books The Cat in the Hat, The Grinch and Horton Hears a Who! have been adapted into feature films, and the musical Seussical is an adaption of all his books.

Ella's Poem - The Lake

Parent’s evening at Ella’s school last night and I discovered this little masterpiece in her literacy excersize book. Call me biased but that picture looks like something created by Picasso.

If you can’t read her writing, this is what it says:

Two Swans gliding across the water
Pond grass fly
The sun glistening on the water
Ducks flapping to dry off their wings
Ducks making triangular patterns on the water
Trees growing out of the lake
Reeds Blowing in the wind
Swans gliding by the lake
The Sun reflecting on the waters
Ducks flapping their wings to dry off the water
Reeds blowing grass fly

Bobby Carrot aka Robert Bunnykins III …Cleaned up

Bobby Carrot aka Robert Bunnykins III ...Cleaned up

After a few months in rehab Bobby faced his inner demons, went cold turkey, regenerated some long forgotten braincells and kicked his chocolate addiction. He’s also dairy free and soya’d up, spiking old ladies cups of tea with Alpro and sneaking a wedge of Sheese down the hole of his best buddy Nicky Nibbler the Mouse Cheesing Snibbler. His ears healed nice from that dice with Harry the Rottweiller. They are seeking arbitration between the party’s and Bobby thinks he might be in for 51% custody of his hellspawn the freaky deaky twins Shyster and Killer. Bobby, now going by his birthname and a thousand yard stare. Oh what a gay day.

For Ducks

For Ducks

My Rosa went through a phase when eating of getting her food and mixing it into her cup of water to create this wonderful sludge of mush but explained perfectly in her toddler -speak that ‘It’s for Ducks’ which made complete sense, and we allowed her to get on and create!

We also have a great book by Nick Sharratt and Sue Heap, a numbers book. On one of the pages there are 4 Ducks and Rosa takes great delight in confusing the two ideas and saying “it’s four Ducks”…
